You Can Call Me Al

I just got home from work. First have of the shift is over! Yay. Now, I have to survive through the second half. I despise the second half. I start to get tired at this point. I also seem to have some sort of eye infection. Yesterday morning my left eye started hurting a little. It felt like someone was stabbing a small needle into my eye, and then it went away. Later, my dad and I got into an argument and he made me cry. My eye has been really puffy and sore ever since. At first I thought it might be conjunctivitis, but I’ve changed my mind. It’s definitely an injury of some sort. I wore my glasses today instead of my contacts. Don’t you feel enlightened now? I thought so.

I often think about the purpose for blogs. Obviously everyone gets something different out of it. And everyone expects something different as well. The purpose for mine is not to entertain the masses. Typing about the many inconsequential things that happen to me throughout the average day seems to take a lot of weight off my shoulders for some reason. It just makes me feel better and more free. The fact that ‘nobody really cares’ doesn’t detract from it because it does serve a purpose for me. And if it’s not morally wrong to blog, and if it serves to make my life a bit easier…then why not?

Lyrics of the Day:

A long time ago came a man on a track
Walking thirty miles with a sack on his back
And he put down his load where he thought it was the best
He made a home in the wilderness
He built a cabin and a winter store
And he ploughed up the ground by the cold lake shore
And the other travellers came riding down the track
And they never went further and they never went back
Then came the churches then came the schools
Then came the lawyers then came the rules
Then came the trains and the trucks with their loads
And the dirty old track was the telegraph road.

  1. Ducked back down the alley with some
    Rolly polly little bat-faced girl

  2. If I’m Al, than Dave’s Betty. Interesting.

  3. Looks like we’ve made it to the hints and allegations part…

all along there were incidents and accidents.

  4. Did you know that after the line “There were hints and allegations” there was supposed to be another phrase. That line was supposed to end with “and things left unsaid” but they thought it would be cool to actually leave that unsaid, like an inside joke.

  5. That’s pretty cool. At that point it becomes the title of an album by a completely different group though. (:

  6. Gee, I didn’t know that. That’s cool. And Dave, that wasn’t witty.
