So far, I’m enjoying living in the St. Louis metro area. In the past two months we have been to the Zoo (Thanksgiving weekend), the Arch, and the Magic House (the latter two on Monday and Tuesday of this week). The Zoo is free, the Arch is cheap, and the Magic House — well, we’ll be getting a family membership there. Wow is all I can say. We could have spent a week there instead of 1.5 hours and the kids wouldn’t have gotten the least bit bored.
The highlight for me was the kids village area. The highlight for everyone else was watching me almost get stuck in one of the little kid-sized tunnels. I’m still not sure why I could get around that corner going in but couldn’t make it around a corner of the same dimensions going out. It doesn’t make sense. I’m just glad that I was able to back out the way I went in. Everytime I think about the experience now I get a little claustrophobic. . .ugh. Not a pleasant feeling.
So yeah, this is going to be fun. We haven’t even been to Grant’s Farm yet, or the rest of the park that the zoo is in (including the Science Center), or the brewery, etc., etc. Not only are we going to have a lot of fun, but there is so much here for the kids to learn. I’m starting to warm up to the big city. Maybe.
