Castle Update

Work has stalled on the Lego castle. We did some rearranging of our living space and the Lego boxes are now in our bedroom. While the theory was that this would allow me to work on my project in the evening, it hasn’t really panned out that way. So, I’m thinking about building a small room in the attic over the garage. I’ll need to replace the rickety pull-down stairs if I am going to be using them regularly; I’ll also need to make a floor and add some lights and maybe a little heat. We’ll see if I actually do it.

Truth be told, I’ve got about a half-dozen other projects that are more pressing, like running an electrical circuit out to the shed so I can turn it into a workshop; starting a garden; various painting projects inside; insulating the crawlspace under the existing pergo floor in the great room, and insulating the hot water lines; and laying a pergo floor to replace the beat-up linoleum in the kitchen and the aging carpet in the dining room. The one advantage of the attic project will be it’s relative cheapness, since I’ll be able to salvage plywood and timber from work that would otherwise be thrown in the dumpster. The most expensive part will be a new set of stairs. We’ll see how it works out.

Wouldn’t it save time and money to just keep working on your castle? :)

But there’s a hole in the bucket, dear Donald! :)

Yeah, of course that would be more simple; but the logistical problem of where to work on it is what prompted the idea to build a space in the attic in the first place.
